Having completed my final product, I am now evaluating the process answering seven questions with seven different media presentation tools.
Question one asks the ways in which my media product uses, develops or challenges forms and conventions of real media products. The answer to this question contains a comparison between my music magazine's front cover and contents page and Vibe magazine's front cover and contents page. The similarities and differences between my music magazine's and Vibe magazine's forms (layout) and conventions(connotations, props, costume) are also included in my answer to this question which I used a PowerPoint application to present. I used PowerPoint because it is easier to annotate and move between slides when viewing.
Question two is to discuss how my media product represents particular social groups. To answer this question I used the Voki presentation tool which can be found at www.voki.com . This question explores the ways in which elements of my music magazine represents a particular target demographic. I used Voki to answer this question because it is a voice animated presentation, therefore my presentation will be presented in a speech form which is more suitable.
The third question asked what kind of media institution might distribute my media product and why? After carrying out research on different media institutions that distribute Rap magazines, I was able to select a particular institution which might distribute my media product as it also distributes Vibe magazines. I used the Piktochart application which is an online application that allows the presentation of information on a single page with inclusion of images and videos.
The fourth question asks of who would be the target audience for my media product? To achieve this answer I carried out an online survey on Rap magzines using Survey Monkey after which I tallied up the results. I used Microsoft Word to answer this question as it enabled me to use the graphs of the result to support a point for my answer.
How did you attract your target audience? the fifth question asks for ways in which elements of my music magazine meets the requirements of my intended target audience/ appeals to them. To answer this question I used an online application called fototagger which enabled me annotate parts of my magazine with tags of how it appeals to my target audience.
Using prezi, I answered the sixth question which covered my knowledge of technology from the process of constructing my music magazine.
Using Powtoon which is an interactive presentation tool, I answered the last question which was to reflect on the progress I have made from the creation of my preliminary task(school publication) to the finishing of my final product(music magazine).
